P. Diddy Set to Produce Oscar-Winning Documentary, ‘Undefeated’
Undefeated won the Oscar for best documentary feature on Sunday, which recently P. Diddy has signed on as a producer.
According to sources, Diddy said: “I am excited to partner with Harvey Weinstein on this incredible project. Undefeated is a great American story with a lot of heart and soul.
“It had a profound effect on me and I couldn’t get it out of my mind when I saw it. There is so much truth and so much hope in this film, and I feel passionately that everyone who sees it will be inspired.”
Undefeated is an inspiring story about a struggling high school football team in a poor Memphis neighborhood. This documentary follows the Manassas Tigers football team, a severely underfunded and underprivileged football, who were even hired out as a practice team for more successful schools, as they reverse their fortunes thanks to their coach
Directed by Daniel Lindsay and T.J. Martin, the film chronicles how a charismatic volunteer coach turns the team and its players around after years of losses. The film has echoes of The Blind Side, the 2009 feature film in which a Memphis mother played by Sandra Bullock adopts a homeless black teenager and helps him achieve football stardom.
After the movie has won big at the Oscars, we can prepare to see this movie in theaters soon.
