2012 BET Awards Nominations Revealed – Are You Going To Watch?

In a press conference Tuesday, BET announced that actor Samuel L. Jackson will host this year’s 2012 BET Awards. It was also released that Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj as the first confirmed performers.

After reviewing the categories, Kanye West leads the pack with seven nominations that include Video Director of the Year, Video of the Year and others. Next Beyoncé follows with six nominations (Best Female R&B Artist, Video of the Year) and Jay Z falls in line with five nominations (Best Group, Best Collaboration).

During the conference Stephen G. Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials, confirmed a Whitney Houston tribute. Everyone’s favorite line dance performers, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will also be honored with the Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 2012 BET Awards will air live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 1 at 8P/7c on BET.
