From Prune Juice Media– U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is probably not having the best week ever.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee voted to hold him in contempt of Congress for not providing paperwork related to the infamous Fast and Furious weapons case. The vote was cast right along party lines with Republicans upset that Holder won’t share everything he knows. President Obama claimed executive privilege over some documents, which is why Holder didn’t provide them.
The contempt move is a first for Congress against a sitting U.S. attorney general.
Holder, however, did not take the news lightly. He called out Republicans in Congress on their“election year tactics.” In addition, he referred to the move as “an extraordinary, unprecedented and entirely unnecessary action, intended to provoke an avoidable conflict between Congress and the executive branch.” [SOURCE]
I couldn’t agree more. If you can’t knock the president, then take a swipe at someone who can’t protect themselves as easily … the highest-ranking man in the Administration that “looks” most like Obama. Republicans have long had it out for Holder anyway.
