There has been video and audio tapes released Thursday by George Zimmerman’s attorney that give Zimmerman’s most detailed account yet of the February 26 shooting of Trayvon Martin. In the video, Zimmerman tells Sanford, Florida, detectives he was trying to escape being beaten by Martin when the teen spotted the handgun strapped to his right hip. Even before the visual was released, suspicions on what happened that night definitely differ from surveillance cameras at the police station and reports first given by Zimmerman himself. People are- again- now questioning the validity of the story. Even a detective who interrogated the neighborhood watch leader pointed out inconsistencies in his story, particularly Zimmerman’s assertion that Martin punched him and slammed his head onto the ground when the teenager had no prior history of violence.
