As theaters prepare the spotlight for the star-studded premiere of the hit musical drama Sparkle, we have decided to highlight some of our favorite scenes from the original version. The movie depicting the 1958’s Harlem, New York life featured Philip Michael Thomas, Irene Cara, Lonette McKee, Dwan Smith, Mary Alice, Dorian Harewood and Tony King. With powerhouse soul singer Aretha Franklin leading on the soundtrack, the original was full of classic hits and even scenes we cannot wait to see what the new cast does with the remake.
