After mama’s Christmas leftovers are almost gone and unwanted holiday gifts are returned, it’s time to bring in 2013. It seems like as soon as one year begins, it’s already coming to an end. This year has flown by, as those previously. Surviving a year is a blessing that helps create cherished moments and memories you’ll never forget. Reflecting over major headlines and personal connections in my life, some people didn’t survive 2012 and that’s enough reason alone to be thankful that I can type this memo.
As the Editorial Director and Founder, working on MUSED has truly been an honor. We’ve had our hardships and successes, but that’s life. Learning to grow is important if you want to see growth. Seeing my vision manifest right in front of my eyes and Macbook Pro reminds me to keep on dreaming and working towards making them come alive. It’s hard to see what you’re doing once you’re in it every night, day, hour or second; however, for those who have cheered and encouraged my staff and I along the way, I say thanks.
Over the next few days as we continue to transition into our refreshed site, things may feel a little janky. Trust me; we’re working hard in the background, tweaking codes and refreshing images. The site might run a little slow and take a bit longer to load but please don’t worry. We’re cleaning house for 2013 to prepare for our refresh on January 8. We’re still going to countdown our favorite posts and keep content ready for you to share. From more exclusive interviews and influential voices writing for the online magazine, I’m excited about the things coming ahead. We will keep our promise to deliver and bring you the best digital destination for modern black gay men.
May your 2013 be filled with much, much more joy, happiness and success. We look forward to hearing from you in the coming year and hope our site remains on your radar. It is readers like you who make MUSED what it is and a pleasure to call home. I challenge you to take some time to reflect on 2012. Have a great New Year and be blessed!
